Two April Stars

This star did a great job reading a class favorite, Miss Nelson is Back. She read with fluency and confidence. She also shared many pictures of her family and her old old home. Nice work!

This star showed her enthusiasm with a bigger than life stuffed Mickey. She also did a fabulous childhood favorite read aloud for the class. We were all impressed with her fluency and expression when she read in front of our big group. This star shared about her  second home in Brazil and even spoke some Portuguese words for the class.

You’re a star in Team 203

This star is so loved by his classmates that we decided he needed to have everyone be a part of his special week! Can you spot our star . . . ? He has the biggest smile in the middle of this team photo! This star shared his favorite book, Make Way for Ducklings. The most impressive part of this read aloud was that our star knew almost every word by heart, wow! Family, family, family. . . . this was the common theme that we saw when we celebrated this star. He also has many passions like Teletubbies, movies, and DANCE.

Star of the Week

This star shared many things with our class and surprised us with a zany pirate read aloud. He is showing off his karate certificate in this picture which proves his dedication and responsibility to the sport. The Peace Builder of the Month did a great job sharing his interests with our class.

Star of the Week

We had a great time learning about our star last week. He brought in parts of his sea life and beach collection to share with the class. We couldn’t help to notice that it started to snow as he was reading the classic book, The Mitten by Janet Stevens. This was a perfect choice to read aloud and our star was well prepared to read with expression, show the beautiful illustrations, and read fluently! Well done 🙂

Star of the week

This star had many things to share with her class. She brought in animal statues, artwork, a doll that had been passed down through generations, and even a real animal bone. We had a great time enjoying our star’s read aloud and all that she added to our class! Be sure to leave this frequent blogger a comment below her picture!

Two more stars

This star is another fearless reader who chose to share a book with his class all by himself. He also shared his musical talents with us a few times this year most recently with his electric guitar! This star not only plays music but can also sing along with his tunes which is not an easy task! Way to go!

This star brought in many unique objects from her life to share with the class. She had some rare crystals, each with a special story or meaning behind them. This star was very organized and knew just what to say when she got her time in the spot light. The class loved the clever poem that her family shared with us. It was filled with all the reasons we have to love this student.

This “fab” star did a great job sharing about her life. We learned that she loves horses, art, basketball, and THE CELTICS!! She also shared a read aloud with the class and a beautiful parent letter. We are very proud of our “fab” star and we’re all rooting for the Boston Celtics this season!

A December and January Star

This star did a great job sharing about his life and love for animals. We also got to see his organized collections. The class liked giving this star some great compliments and celebrating his interests!

Our next star had a short week but filled it with lots of interesting shares. We read a favorite read aloud about Miss Nelson. I wonder if the class will be curious to see who our next substitute is, hehehe. This star brought in a detailed marble collection and had lots of pictures of his beloved family and pets. He even shared an autographed baseball from the Boston Red Sox! We have a lot of sports fans in Team 203!

Star of the Week

Our star was very prepared and ready to share this week. She took the plunge and had the courage to read a favorite story in front of her class which was very impressive. We also learned that this star loves the water, specifically she loves to snorkel and has traveled to many diverse places to snorkel! One of those places was my favorite destination, St John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This star is an expert on animals, travel, and her favorite, DOGS!!
