Giving Thanks

Students have been busy writing many thank you notes for all of the parents and teachers that have helped us this year! Each parent will receive a note from a thankful student since we know we couldn’t have done it without you.

A special thanks to all of our garden volunteers, especially Carol! The Mullen Hall Garden has truly come alive this year and we were so happy to be a part of it!

Ahhhh . . . springtime in the garden!

We have been busy planting peas in our garden and will revisit later this week to add the trellises as support to these plants. It felt so good to feel the warm sun and notice all of the changes in our garden as it wakes up from the long, frigid, winter.

It was such a lovely Friday that we had to go back out to the garden to work on the beginning stages of research for the Wax Museum project. All we needed were good listeners, a few stumps to sit on, clipboards, and a pencil!

End of the Season Harvest

IMG_2264 IMG_2270 IMG_2269 IMG_2268 IMG_2267 IMG_2266 IMG_2265

Team 203 braved the elements to help harvest our lettuce and spinach that was donated to the Falmouth Service Center. Students got to harvest, shake off excess dirt, snap off roots, rinse, and bag our crops. We crafted a letter to go along with our donations and sent our healthy greens to be delivered. It felt really great to be able to help out our community with food that was grown on Mullen Hall soil! A special thanks to Carol for facilitating this lesson and delivering our donations today!

On Friday afternoon we ventured down to our new garden and go to explore with Carol. Students were able to do some planting and do a scavenger hunt. Check out Team 203 taking advantage of a sunny October afternoon in the garden!

Take a moment to check out the Mullen Hall Garden Blog as well. A few of my students who work with Ms. T posted about their thoughts on the community and our garden!
